MRS. J. Y. BERRY

Mrs. J. Y. Berry passed away on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 26, 1911, at the age of 67 years, 5 months and 30 days, after an extended illness with dropsy and a complication of troubles.

Funeral services, conducted by Rev. W. G. Hohanshelt, of the M. E. church, were held from the home of her sister, Mrs. Virginia Imel, on Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Chariton cemetery.

Louisa Graham was born in Macoupin county, Ill., on June 16, 1844. She was married to J. Y. Berry in the year 1865. To them six children were born, five of whom are living. They are Ed, of Albia, Mrs. Laura Shannon, of Cedar Rapids, Owen, of this place, Mrs. Bertha Vickroy, of Everist, and Mrs. Ethel Borrell, of Hastings, Nebr. A son, LeRoy, died six years ago next month.

In 1868, the family came to Iowa, residing here ever since. Mrs. Berry was a woman of a quiet but pleasant disposition, devoted to her family and friends, and was held in high esteem by all who knew her. She had a large circle of friends who will learn of her death with sorrow and who will extend sincere sympathy to the bereaved relatives who survive.
