GRAHAM- In Eureka, May 4, 1896, Thomas Roy Graham, a native of Natchez, Mass., aged 45 years, 4 mouths and 8 days. Funeral from family residence, 216 J street, at 2 p. m. Wednesday.
Death of Thos. Graham
Thos. R Graham, the well known builder and contractor, who had been a sufferer from Bright's disease and whose illness had been the subject of much concern among his friends, passed quietly away at his home in this city at 8 o'clock yesterday morning. Thomas Roy Graham was the son of Pioneers Mr. and Mrs. George Graham, of this city, and was himself a pioneer, having been brought here when a child of two years by his mother, from the place of his birth, Natchez. Miss. Deceased was about 43 years of age and leaves a wife and little daughter besides his parents and two sisters— Mrs. J.A, Livingston and Mrs. E. Mullen. He was a member of the Odd Fellows and Society of Humboldt County Pioneers besides being an active member of the Eureka Volunteer Fire Department. The funeral will take place under the auspices of Fortuna Lodge, I. O. O. F., from the family residence, on J street, near Second, at 2 o'clock to-morrow afternoon. A special meeting of the Pioneers was held last evening to take proper action respecting the memory of Pioneer Thos. R. Graham, deceased. G. Wood and G. D. Murray were appointed as pallbearers for the Pioneers. A. J. Monroe, E. Sevier and A. J. Wiley were appointed as a committee on resolutions, and it was resolved that all members who can, attend the funeral aa a mark of respect to deceased. Engine Co. No 1, E. F. D, also met last evening and after passing resolutions of respect and condolence, appointed the following members to act as escort at the funeral: Foreman A. C. Dauphiny, H. L. Ricks, Samuel Dowling, Fred Hansen, B. McGarraghan, F. Knacke, active members; C. F. Gardner, H. H. Buhne, Jeremiah McCarthy, W. J. McNamara and R. Sweasey exempts.
