Jessie Graham Teeples, 83, died in her sleep at the Elderly Manor Assisted Living Center. She was born in Newdale, Idaho April 14, 1919 to Violet and Harry Graham. She graduated from Madison High School, Rexburg, Idaho and attended Nursing School for four years at Pocatello, Idaho through the General Hospital and became an RN.
She met Verl Teeples while he was attending Ricks College in Rexburg. They corresponded while she completed her nurses training and he fulfilled a 4-year mission for the LDS church in Tonga. Shortly after her graduation she and Verl were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
They lived all their married life in Salt Lake. She has worked as a Community Nurse in Salt Lake, at the Holy Cross Hospital and the LDS Hospital for 20 years.
One of Jessie's enjoyments in life was listening to Verl sing while he played one of his various instruments or the organ.
She not only plied her nursing skills on the job, but always gave a willing hand to anyone who needed her help, especially the aged and infirm. She is known for her cheerful personality and loving care.
She is survived by three children: Terry W. Teeples, South Jordan; Karl Teeples, Atlanta, Georgia; and Jackie Bona, Mount Pleasant, Utah; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; a brother Dean Graham, Rexburg, ID and a sister, Alice Blake, Sun Valley, ID.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, December 21 at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 S. Highland Drive. Viewing will be held from 10:45-11:45 prior to the service.
