Lucy Graddy Abbitt was the daughter of William Edgar Graddy and Mariah Louisa Battle Graddy. She was born in Quitman County and married William K. Abbitt. They migrated to Arkansas, then to Pike Co., AL.
In there old age, William and Lucy moved to Phenix City, Al to live with their daughter, Laura Abbitt Pittman.

Mrs. Lucy F. Abbitt

Mrs. Lucy F. Abbitt, 78, died at a sanitarium, Tuscaloosa, Ala., yesterday.

Surviving her are two daughters, Mrs. Laura Pittman and Mrs. Mary Reynolds, both of Phenix City, Ala., two sons, James and William Abbitt, both of Phenix City.

The body will arrive in Columbus on the 1 o'clock train Wednesday afternoon and will be carried to the funeral home of T. W. Britton in Phenix City where funeral will probably be held sometime Wednesday, and the body will be shipped to Ezell, Ala., for internment.
