He was born in New Bedford, the son of the late Antonio and Louise (Gomes) Grace, residing on Milton Street in Dartmouth for 50 years and the past 8 years on North St., New Bedford.
Mr. Grace was employed in the funeral industry for many years, most notably for the former Burgo Funeral Home assisting in funeral directing and embalming until his retirement.
He was a longtime communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church and a member of the Verdean Vets Hall as well as Project Independence Day Care.
His family includes 2 sons, Stanley Grace and his wife, Ifeta of Michigan and Henry Grace and his wife, Brenda of New Bedford; daughter, Sandra Ford and her husband, Calvin of New Bedford; 2 brothers, Frank Grace and his wife, Mary of Fairhaven and Edward Grace and his wife, Leke of South Dartmouth; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as nieces & nephews.
He was the father of the late Franklin Grace.
His funeral will be Saturday morning 8:00 at the funeral home with a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated in Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9:00. Visiting hours Friday evening 4:00-8:00. Interment in St. John Cemetery.
