He emigrated to New Britain from Ireland in 1860, with the rest of the family (wife and 7 sons) arriving 1861 and 1862. The first descendant form one of his sons, was Helena, daughter of Michael and Sarah (Hartneady) Grace, who you note was buried Oct 10, 1865. The burial records I obtained from the cemetery office state that Helena was 1 yr and 8 months old, not 1 yr and 1 day old as entered on the Find-a-Grave site. However, the latter would seem plausible, as Sarah, her mother died Oct 22, 1865, only 13 days after Helena's birth, if her birth had been Oct 9. Death of a mother so soon after childbirth was not uncommon in those days.
