A.C. Grable III also known as "Cricket" was born on August 20, 1983, in Pasadena, California to Diana Mitchell and A.C. Grable II. He was the third and middle child to Diana who has five sons. Diana and her son A.C. had a special bond because she referred to him as "Mr. Professor" because of his over protecting nature and the fact that he "Always had to be right". He would refer to his mom as "Mrs. Nine Years Old" because of her so called expert cooking skills. They had a fun and loving relationship and his mom will miss (play) arguing and fussing with him the most.

A.C. spent his childhood years in Los Angeles County (Monrovia, Covina, El Monte, and Durate). He attended and graduated from Monrovia High School in 2002. He later attended Mt. Sac and Citrus Community Colleges at which he played baseball. At a very young age A.C. discovered his first love. He picked up his first baseball bat when he was about six or seven years old and has been hitting home runs ever since! In school, A.C. was a well rounded and All Star athlete. He played various sports including high school basketball, football, and golf dominating every sport he attempted. However, if anyone asked what was his favorite, he would always say that "Baseball is my true love."

Besides baseball, A.C. also enjoyed giving back, mentoring and coaching others (especially his nephews), listening to slow jams and R&B, playing golf, shooting pool, and most importantly hanging out with his brothers with whom he was so close to. He was family oriented and was also known as the family Peacemaker.

A.C. signed his first professional baseball contract with the Victoria Seals in 2009. He played for several baseball teams including the Florence Freedoms, Edmonton Capitals, and the Durham Bulls. His greatest accomplishments were his National Adult Baseball Association (NABA) championships in 2009 (Newport Storms), 2009 (Tacoma Tuggs), and 2010 (Arizona Diamond Jaxx). In April 2011 he signed the biggest contract of his career with the Yuma Scorpians of Arizona, but God had other plans for him. He signed his final contract with God on April 20, 2011 and hit a homerun to heaven at the age of 27. It's been a great journey, A.C. you have pursured your dreams and made us proud.

A.C. is preceded in death by his father, A.C. Grable II; grandparents, Susie and A.C. Grable, and Aunt Flora Mae Mitchell. He leaves behind all who will cherish his memories...his mother: Diana Mitchell; stepfather: Carl A Lindsey Sr.; grandmother: Martha L. White; fiance': Maria Carrillo; bother: William Mitchell, K.C. Moore, Carl A. Lindsey Jr., and Mark Lindsey; sisters-in-law: Nedra Mithcell and Sarah Lindsey, six nephews, four nieces, and a host of other relatives including aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

I was driving home from the service some 30 minutes after the ceremony I was taking the 60 freeway east going to Norco in Riverside when I almost had to pull over suddenly. Along the shoulder of the freeway about 50 feet above the cars, I had to literally...(Read more)
