Ann Altman, 90, of Media, formerly of Wilkes-Barre and Mountain Top, died Monday morning at home.
Born in Lynn, Mass., on July 31, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Jenny Stone Garber and was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School.
She was a member of Hadassah, National Council of Jewish Women, the Democratic Party, and co-founder of the Altman/Garber Israel Education Fund at Temple Israel, Wilkes-Barre.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Attorney Julius Altman, and brother, Barney Garber.
Surviving are her daughters, Jacqueline Altman, King of Prussia; Barbara (Jules) Meisler, Silver Spring, Md.; son, Richard (Kathy) Altman, Vienna, Va.; grandchildren, Marc (Sara) Meisler and Jan (Naomi) Meisler, Baltimore, Md., Max Altman and Alison Altman, Virginia; seven great-grandchildren, Baltimore; a sister, Dorothy Peritz, Hallandale, Fla.; four nephews and numerous cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday from Rosenberg Funeral Chapel, 348 S. River Street, Wilkes-Barre, with Rabbi Larry Kaplan officiating.
Interment will follow in Workmans Circle Cemetery.
Shiva will be observed at the homes of her children in Virginia and Maryland.
Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to Hadassah or the Altman/Garber Israel Education Fund, c/o Temple Israel Synagogue, Wilkes-Barre, Pa.
