Carol Lee Gower, 62, of rural West Union, died Saturday, November 2, 2002 at 3:50 pm at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana.
Mrs. Gower was born on June 8, 1940 in Hutsonville to Andrew HerscheI Thompson and Elma Lenore Gulp Thompson.
She was a homemaker.
She had been formerly employed by the Hutsonville Community School Unit 1 as a student transporter/van driver. Prior to that, she had been employed at Briggs Pottery in Robinson on the office/clerical staff.
Carol attended Palestine Pilgrim Holiness Church. She was a member of Royal Neighbors of America.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Lane Gower, whom she married on September 15, 1956; one son and daughter-in-law, Steven Lane and Trish Gower of rural West Union; one daughter, Sheri Lee Gower of Robinson; her mother-in-law, Gladys Gower of rural West Union; one brother, Robert Dean Thompson of Marshall; one sister-in-law, Norma Thompson of Farmersburg, Indiana; one brother-in-law, Donald Heleine of Robinson; four grandchildren, Mirando Jo Steinman, Rachel Brianne Gower, Julie Anne Gower, and Jerry Lane Gower II; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Michael Lane Gower; one daughter, Linda Kay Gower; one grandchild, Skylar Rain Gower; her father-in-law, Rev. Lloyd E. Gower; one sister, Thelma Jean Heleine; and one brother, Burton M. Thompson.
Services are Thursday, November 7 at 10 am at the Palestine Pilgrim Holiness Church with Rev. Paul Gray and Rev. Robert Gray officiating. Burial will be in the Hustonville Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday from 5-8pm at the Prust-Hosch Funeral Chapel in West Union and Thursday from 9-1 Oam at the church.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
