Mary G. Campbell, 98, of Carrollton, died June 10, 2005 in the Carroll Golden Age Retreat at Carrollton, following an extended illness. She was born June 24, 1906 in Belmont County, Ohio, a daughter of the late William and Amy (Walker) Gow. Mary was a member of the Carrollton First Presbyterian Church, the Petersburg Grange, and the Carroll County Farm Bureau. She was an avid quilter, making numerous quilts for family and friends.
She is survived by three sons, William (Shirley) Campbell, Clyde (Patty) Campbell and Gene (Judy) Campbell, all of Carrollton; a daughter, Donna (Bob) Stefanik of Rootstown, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, William Campbell, on April 11, 1979; and two sisters, Agnes Hawthorne and Martha Work. Funeral services will be held June 15, 2005, at 11 a.m. in the Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home of Carrollton with Rev. Joanne Meerse officiating. Burial will follow in the Westview Cemetery at Carrollton.
