Lucy J. Gould Sievers

Lucy Sievers, 86, of Silt, passed away on March 29, 2008 in Rifle. Lucy was born March 12, 1922 in Silt, to Robert and Harriet (Raley) Fuller. She was the oldest of ten children.Lucy lived most of her life in Colorado.

On December 6, 1937 she married Archie Gould in Basalt. There were five children born to their union. They were married 27 years. Archie preceded her in death in 1964.

In August, 1966 she married Clyde H. Sievers in Glenwood Springs. They recently celebrated 41 years of marriage.

Lucy became a stock broker and worked for Bosworth Sullivan for many years. She enjoyed reading, sewing and loving her grandchildren. She was active in the local Republican Party and was a past member of Business & Professional Women, PTA, 4-H and Rebeka Lodge. Her church was an important part of her life and she remained actively involved.

She is survived by her husband Clyde, her children Bob Gould, Art (Ruth) Gould, Hallie (Terry) Gore, Mike Gould, and Ruth (Ed) Vetter, step-daughters Gloria (Pat) Elliott and Susan Sievers, 14 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren, sisters Lora Belle Fuller, Jimmie Buford, Charlot Blumenthal, Denise Whatley, Roberta Phillips, Marilyn McGee and Karilyn Lundt.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Milton Fuller, sister Dixie Pierson and step-daughter Sonja Fritzlan.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, April 5, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Garfield County in Silt. Interment will follow immediately at Skyline Cemetery in Silt. Rifle Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Lucy's name to: First Baptist Church of Garfield County, Building Fund, 632 Grand Avenue, Silt, CO 81652.
