Jane Goddard Long Gott, 79, died at 7:21 AM Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2001, at St. Mary's Healthcare. Born Dec. 21, 1921, in Lafayette, she was a lifelong resident and a graduate of Jefferson High School. She married Raymond Gott on July 30, 1973, in Lafayette; he survives. [Re Lafayette Journal & Courier Newspaper Index: Her first marriage was to Morton Long on Jan. 26, 1940.]

Mrs. Gott had been a realtor for 20 years, last working at Lux Agency. Before that she was with the Mason and Yundt agencies. She was a member of Congress Street United Methodist Church, Women of the Moose, a former member of Elks Lodge Ladies Auxiliary, Lafayette Board of Realtors and American Business Women's Association, where she was named Business Woman of the Year.

Surviving with her husband are two sons, Gary Long of Pembroke Pines, FL, and Thomas Long of Indianapolis; a daughter, Susan (Mrs. Dan) Bloemke of West Lafayette; two stepsons, David Gott (wife Lynn) of Indianapolis and Stephen Gott (wife Carol) of Monticello; a sister, Eileen (Mrs. Bill) Seeger of Lafayette; two brothers, Clay Goddard (wife Lillian) of Rockville and Russell Goddard of Ruski, FL; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a sister and a brother. Service Feb. 17, Hippensteel Chapel, the Rev. Larry Dimick officiating; internment Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
