Mrs. Elizabeth A. Bailey, 87, of 207 West Fifth avenue, Clearfield, died at her home Monday afternoon following an extended illness. She was the mother of Mrs. Laura B. Frank, Clearfield Borough tax collector.
Mrs. Bailey was born at West Decatur June 19, 1869, a daughter of the late Abraham and Sarah Mayes Goss. She was the last surviving member of her family.
Her husband, Joseph L. Bailey, preceded her in death April 19, 1907. Also preceding her in death was one son, Ivan.
Mrs. Bailey was a member of the Trinity Methodist Church, the Order of Eastern Star and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Surviving her are the following children:
Miss Ida M. Bailey, Clearfield; Mrs. Frank, Clearfield; Mrs. Elsie B. High, Clearfield; Alvin, Clearfield; Mrs. Jennie B. Smith, Harrisburg; and Mrs. Mary B. McGoey, Clearfield.
She also leaves 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held from the Leavy Funeral Home Thursday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. with Rev. Hubert Glassco officiating. Interment will be made in the Hillcrest Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and until time of the services Thursday.
Eastern Star memorial service will be held at the funeral home Wednesday at 7 p.m.
