Glen L. Goss Sr.
Gospel entertainer enjoyed fishing in Canada
Glen L. Goss Sr., 73, of Cragle Hill Road, Shickshinny, passed away Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
He was born in Red Rock on July 7, 1938, the son of the late Harold Edward Goss Jr. and Gilberta Everetts Goss.
Prior to retiring, he was employed as a truck driver for Friedman's Express Trucking of Mountain Top and Naugle's Sand and Gravel of Pikes Creek.
Glen served as assistant pastor of the Larksville Mountain Full Gospel Church for many years. He was a member of the Sunshine Full Gospel Church, Shickshinny.
A member of the Teamsters Local 401, he enjoyed going on fishing trips to Canada. He entertained people of numerous churches and nursing homes with his country gospel performances.
He was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Michaela Goss; a sister, Renee Deyo, and brothers Harold Jr., Guy and Carl.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Roxy McMichael Goss; sons: Glen L. Goss Jr. and his wife, Mary Jane, of Hunlock Creek; Joseph E. Goss and his wife, Lisa A., of Plymouth; John E. Goss and his wife, Diane, of Plymouth; daughters: Penny Carl and her husband, Allen, of Stillwater; Michelle D. Jenceleski and her husband, Jay, of Stillwater; Rachel A. Sans and her husband, Jeffery, of Metairie, La.; brothers: Clinton of Lehman and Bud of Lake Silkworth; sisters: Charlotte Derhammer of Beaumont; Darlene Coulter of Wilkes-Barre; Mable Comer of Hunlock Creek; Selma Bowman of Atlanta, Ga.; Vanessa
Shields of Plymouth; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. from the Charles L. Cease Funeral Home, 634 Reyburn Road, Shickshinny, with the Rev. Kenneth Boston, retired pastor of the Sunshine Full Gospel Church, officiating. Interment will be in Bethel Hill Cemetery, Fairmount Township. Friends may call Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
