MRS. THOMAS DOYLE
Mary Gorman Doyle, daughter of Mary and Patrick Gorman, was born in Fitchburg May 31, 1848. She grew to womanhood and received her education in the town of her birth.
On October 21, 1878 she was united in marriage to Thomas Doyle who mourns her death. This union was blessed by the birth of ten children, three of which preceded her in death. Those remaining to mourn her death are Mrs. Abe Noyce, Mrs. Charles Owens, and Thomas Doyle of Oregon; Mrs. Orien Sandmire of Richland Center, Mrs. Frank Gilbert of Harvard, Ill., Arthur Doyle of 2409 Bashford Ave., Madison, and Mrs. Rex Phillips, Monona Drive, Madison. She also leaves nineteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Mr. and Mrs. Doyle resided on a farm in Fitchburg until their home burned in 1926. They then moved top the village of Fitchburg, remaining there until two and a half years ago. Since then they have resided with their daughter, Mrs. Abe Noyce, Oregon.
In the early day of her married life Mrs. Doyle carried mail from Oregon to Lakeview and Oakhall. No matter how cold, or how deep the snow drifts were she was always there with a smile and a cheery greeting. She was a devoted mother, a true and devoted Christian, ever looking toward the higher things in life. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to her neighbors and friends in need.
After suffereing from an illness of three days, on October 6th she passed to the Great Beyond which knows no suffering and sorrow.
The funeral was held from the Abe Noyce home and from the Catholic church at Oregon, Rev. Father Mcginnity officiating. The remains were laid to rest at St. Mary's cemetery in Oregon. Pall bearers were Howard and charles Owens, Herman and James Noyce, Rober and William Doyle.
