Funeral services for Antoinette M. "Toni" Gorham of Sheridan will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 23, in the chapel of Macy & Son Funeral Directors, McMinnville. The Rev. Jim Peterson will officiate.

Private family interment will take place.

Mrs. Gorham died of natural causes on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2005, in the Willamette Valley Medical Center, McMinnville. She was 59.

Born Dec. 12, 1946, in Petaluma, Calif., she was the daughter of Anthony and Delores (Bettencourt) Mattos. She grew up in Tomales, Calif. She graduated from St. Vincent High School in Petaluma, Calif., then attended Santa Rosa Junior College of Nursing.

She married George C. Gorham on Feb. 4, 1966. She worked at several hospitals while they were living in Santa Rosa, Calif. She also was involved with the candy striper program at one time.

After they moved to Sheridan in 1977, she worked as a critical care nurse at McMinnville Community Hospital. She later became critical care coordinator.

She moved to the Willamette Valley Medical Center when the new hospital was built. She was instrumental in developing the critical care unit and continued as coordinator.

She became charge nurse in 1999. In 2002, she returned to critical care nursing.

Mrs. Gorham was a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses. She loved her job and enjoyed traveling.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Carrick of Sheridan and William in the U.S. Army; her mother, Delores Mattos of McMinnville; three sisters, Marietta Thorpe of Santa Rosa, Calif., Patricia Horner of Sacramento, Calif., and Jill Mattos-Brenenstall of Vancouver, Wash.; and four grandchildren.
