Agnes Lorraine Gorham was born August 29th, 1923 in Beadle County, Huron, South Dakota. She was the last of 8 children born to Mary Jane and Walter Guy Gorham. She attended rural schools through the 8th grade, finishing 8th grade at Huron Junior High School. She left Huron in 1941 and worked at various jobs in the Midwest. She moved to Portland Oregon in 1951, working for Palaskie Coffee Shop, Char-House Restaurant, and then Irelands Restaurant.
Ag is loved and survived by ten nieces and nephews and their families, who loved hearing her stories. She told us that she remembered as a little girl she, with her parents, took a train trip to the Black Hills and she saw the President of the United States, Calvin Coolidge, sitting on the front porch of his summer home getting his hair cut. Agnes was one of Jehovah's Witnesses, baptized in 1978, and served Jehovah faithfully until her death.
Agnes was predeceased by: her parents and four brothers Arthur (infant), Carl, Bob , and Jim Gorham and three sisters Alma Stevens, Alta Conrad, and Doris Bergerson.
