Mrs. Babbitt Funeral

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Babbitt, aged 80, whose death occurred at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Adolph Milling, in the town of Edson, from a paralytic stroke on Wednesday, were conducted at the daughter's home at 2 o'clock this afternoon. Interment was in the Edson cemetery.

Mrs. Babbitt was born at New Haven, Conn., Nov. 11, 1847 and was married to F.C. Babbitt in 1863. In 1867 they came to Cadott and resided several years in that locality, part of the time in the town of Colburn. After the death of her husband she took up her residence with her daughter.

Nine children survive as follows: Frank Babbitt of Colburn, William of Spokane, Wash., Benjamin of Keystone, Isaac of Troutdale, Ore., Julian of Ashland, Mrs. Grace Brown of Appleton, Mrs. James McConville of the town of Goetz, Mrs. Fred Etten of Boyd, Mrs. Adolph Milling of Boyd.

Mrs. Mary Smith Babbitt, 80, pioneer resident of the Boyd country, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Adolph Milling, in the village of Boyd last night. She was the widow of the late F.C. Babbitt whose death occurred four years ago. The Babbitt family moved to a farm a short distance north of Boyd in 1867.

Mrs. Babbitt was born at Bernard, Vermont. She was the mother of nine children. Arrangements for conducting the funeral had not been completed today.

"March 11, 1863; he married Mary Matilda, a daughter of James A. and Mary (Smith) Gorham, of Connecticut. There have been born to them nine children: Frank A., April 11, 1864; Grace Amanda, July 19, 1866; Isaac James, May 6, 1869; Julian Atwood, October 1, 1871; Benjamin Lucius, September 29, 1875; Josephine E., February 15, 1879; Naoma E., November 25, 1881; Louisa Irene, February 19, 1885; and Wellman C., April 1, 1887. Mrs. Babbitt was born November 11, 1846."
