79, of Atlanta died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008.
Funeral services were held Feb. 17 at Congregation Shearith Israel with Rabbi Hillel Norry officiating. Interment followed at Crest Lawn Memorial Park.
Mrs. Adler was born in Buford to A. Dave and Miriam Gordon. Her dedication to metro Atlanta's Jewish community started at the University of Georgia, where she was a member of Delta Phi Epsilon sorority. Her community involvement later manifested itself in Hadassah, B'nai B'rith Women, B'nai B'rith Youth Organization, the Atlanta Jewish Federation, the Atlanta Jewish Community Center, the Shearith Israel Sisterhood, The Temple and Ahavath Achim Synagogue.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Howard Adler of Brooklyn, N.Y., sister Patricia Gellar, brother Walter Gordon and brother-inlaw Monroe Adler.
Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law, Andrew B. Adler of Marietta, Gary E. Adler and Dennis M. Adler of Jacksonville, Fla., and Kenneth M. and Amanda Adler of Columbia, S.C.; daughter Sabrina S. Adler of Atlanta; brothers Bob Gordon of Atlanta, Lawrence Gordon and wife Estelle of Richmond, Va., and Milton Gordon of Atlanta; sister-in-law Vivian Adler of New York; her husband, Edward Sternberg of Atlanta; and grandchildren David and Ariel Adler of Marietta and Adam and Kathryn Adler of Columbia.
