Hannah (Gordon) Flood, my great grandmother was born in New York where she married William Aurellous Flood in 1848. Two children were born to them and both died before they sailed to California about 1854. Hannah died 1 January 1862 on the same day she gave birth to her sixth child they named for her, Hannah Flood. This child, so the family story goes, had to be 'given away' as William had no one to care for an infant.
Originally buried at Laurel Hill Cemetery in 1862, Hannah Flood; Date of burial, January 2, 1862. Book I, page 219 age 30 years, 0 months, 0 days; Grave 11, Tier 26, Public Plot. Removed to Cypress Lawn Cemetery 1 October, 1946, to Vault 1771, (K,H. md) She is interred with her two year old daughter, Harriet who died two weeks after her mother.
