Mrs. Carolyn "Susie" Gordon, 65, of Frederick, died Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at Kline Hospice House after a year-long battle with lung cancer. She was the wife of Joseph "Butch" Gordon. They just celebrated their 43rd
wedding anniversary on August 24th.

Born May 13, 1946 in Frederick, she was the daughter of Edith Mackley Shultz of Frederick, and the late Mehrl Wilson Shultz, Sr.

Susie was an avid and lucky bingo player, often playing four nights a week at the Elks club and the American Legion. She loved gardening, cooking and baking. Susie especially loved planning and decorating for the holidays.

She lovingly took care of her mother who had lived with her since the untimely death of Susie's twin brother, Carroll, last year.

Of all the things Susie loved in life, her grand-children, Hyatt, Meritt and Beckett were the joy and love of her life.

In addition to her
husband and mother she is survived by one son, Scott Gordon and wife, Amy Entis Gordon of Adamstown; her adoring grandsons, Hyatt (age 3 1/2), Meritt (age 2), and Beckett (8 months); her sister, Gladys Carey and husband, E. Carlton Carey of Frederick; a sister- in-law, Crissie Shultz of Frederick; and several nieces and nephews.

Susie also will be remembered by special friends, Terry May, Brenda Blank, and Ida and Kenny Donahoe. She also leaves behind her special poodle, Tubby.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Carroll Shultz, and Mehrl "Sonny" Shultz, Jr.

The family received friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, September 2, 2011 at Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick. Funeral services were held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 3 from the funeral home chapel, with the family receiving friends from 11 a.m. until time of services. Officiating was the Rev. Dr. W. Phillip Fogarty.
