Eva Mae Gordon Bartell FLORENCE - Funeral services for Mrs. Eva Mae Gordon Bartell will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Wed-nesday, February 13, 2013 at Pentecostal United Apostolic Church of Christ, Pamplico Highway, Florence. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. She died on Thursday, February 7, 2013 in a local hospital after an illness. Eva was born November 12, 1932 in Pamplico, SC to Henry Harrison Gordon and Emma Elizabeth Turner Gordon. She attended the public schools of Florence County. After her husband was honorably discharged from the U. S. Army, they relocated from Hagerstown, MD to her hometown of Pamplic, SC. At an early age, Eva accepted Jesus Christ into her life. Later in life she joined the Pentecostal United Apostolic Church of Christ. She was a faithful member, a licensed Missionary and the first piano player for the church. Eva was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 47 years, Mr. L. B. Bartell; and five brothers. She is survived by: two sons, Elbert Bartell of Atlanta, GA and Gregory Bartell of Florence, SC; one daughter, Deborah Bartell of Florence, SC; seven grandchildren, Casey, Lavincent, Bridgette Shanovia (A.J.), Phillip (Colleen), DeAndrea, Ricardo and Nicholas; five great grandchildren, Amari, Alonte, Sa´Niy, Rashad Akeem and Lena; one brother, George Gordon of Richmond, VA; three sisters, Lottie Ruth Bailey of Kansas City, MO; Albertha (Elvin) Weaver of Willingboro, NJ and Mildred (Ronnie) Brayboy of Bridgeport, CT; seven sisters-in-law; five brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Viewing will be 1:00-6:00 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family is receiving friends at the home, 1411 Buckingham Road, Florence.
