Ida M. Gayetty, 91, formerly of Towne Towers and President, died at 11:40 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, in the Oil City Presbyterian Home where she had resided since Oct. 11, 2001. Born June 10, 1910, in Oil City, she was a daughter of Frederick and Maude Ida Hazen Goodwill.
Mrs. Gayetty had worked as a waitress at Famoore's for many years, and from 1981 through 1994 she was a cafeteria volunteer at St. Stephen School. She was a lifelong member of St. Stephen Church and the Rosary Society of the church.
Mrs. Gayetty was married in New York Aug. 26, 1936, to
Joseph F. Gayetty, who died May 28, 1971. Shortly after her husband's death, she moved from President to Oil City.
Surviving are a son and his wife, Joseph F. and Joan Gayetty of Franklin; a grandson and his wife, Joseph P. and Ruth Gayetty of Reno; a granddaughter and her husband, Kristina M. and Terry VanWormer of Parker; three great-grandchildren,
Rachel Elizabeth, Rebekah Anne and Josiah David Gayetty, all of Reno; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband,
Mrs. Gayetty was preceded in death by three brothers, Marion Goodwill, Marvin Goodwill and Harold Goodwill; and an infant sister, Eva Goodwill.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Reinsel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
