ALMA PEARL GOODSON
born June 25, 1919 in Mart, TX, resided in Oakland, CA for 56 years and relocated to Sacramento in 1999 where she died peacefully, August 3, 2006. She and husband, Frank Goodson, were distributors of Watkins Quality Products. They owned and operated the Watkins store in Oakland for over 50 years. Alma joined Allen Chapel AME Church in Sacramento under Watch Care in 2000 but Parks Chapel AME Church in Oakland, where she had been a member since 1943, remained her home church. Member of South Gate Chapter No. 27, Order of the Eastern Stars. Devoted wife of 64 years to Frank Goodson of Oakland, loving mother to Frances Goodson of Oakland and Marva Goodson Hamilton (Jerome) of Elk Grove, Ca, and devoted grandmother to Nashua Hamilton, Natasha Hamilton, and Naleah Hamilton, all of Elk Grove. Survived by one brother, Luther Mitchell of Los Angeles, CA and one sister, Ilene Brown of Philadelphia, PA and many other relatives and close friends. Quiet hour will be on Monday, August 7, 2006 at Harris Funeral Home, 1331 San Pablo Avenue, Berkeley, CA from 5-7pm. Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 8, 2006, at Parks Chapel AME Church, 436 34th Street Oakland. Interment at Rolling Hills Memorial Park, Richmond, CA.
