Death of Mrs. Goodenow - Mr. S.C. Thompson received a dispatch yesterday morning from Hilsdale, Illinois, that Mrs. Goodenow, Mrs. Thompsons mother, died there at 6 o'clock. Mrs. Thompson has been there for over a month nursing the old lady who has been ill for several weeks with a complication of liver and kidney diseases. Mrs. Goodenow was a most excellent specimen of woman-hood, and her death is a most serious loss and bereavement to her family and friends. She was about 70 years of age, but her vivacity and good nature made her appear young.
Wheaton Illinoian, 6 July 1888
Died - Mrs. Goodenow, sister of Mrs. Kniffen, last Friday morning at the residence of W.O. Cole. Funeral was held Saturday at 2:30 pm.
