VALENTINE M. GONRING, of the Cedar Lake Home, formerly of 622 Elm St., West Bend, died Tuesday, Dec. 26 at the Cedar Lake Home at the age of 91.

Gonring was born Jan 27, 1887, in the Town of West Bend. He married Julia Wenninger Oct. 17, 1911 at St. Mathias Church, Nabob. He grew up in the Town of West Bend and settled there after his marriage until 1914, when the couple moved to the City of West Bend.

He was employed at The West Bend Company from Oct. 2, 1914 until retirement on Dec. 30, 1952. He entered the Cedar Lake Home in January of 1974.

Survivors include his children, Roman (Victoria), Virginia Finch, Eugene (Lucille), all of West Bend, Florence (Jerome) Mueller, Cedar Lake, and Barbara (Anthony) Calvano, Greendale; 10 grandchildren;24 great-grandchildren, one brother, William of St. Paul, Minn.; and other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Julia, who died May 13, 1973; six brothers and four sisters.

He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, West Bend Lodge 1398 and the 25 Year Club of The West Bend Company.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 7 p.m. from the Schmidt Funeral Home, 629 Cedar St., and at 7:30 p.m. at Holy Angels Church. Fr. Thomas Weber will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be n Holy Angels Cemetery.

Visitation at the funeral Home will be after 3 p.m. Thursday
