Albert was survived by his wife of 56 years Dora Gómez; daughter Albertina T. Gómez-Wilkinson (husband Bill H.); son Kenneth Paul Gómez; grandson William Albert Paul Wilkinson; two granddaughters: Michelle Renee and Monica Therese; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews; and many family and friends.
Albert worked for the railroad prior to serving in the US Army during World War II. After his return, Albert and Dora's lives crossed again and he married his sweetheart Dora Gonzáles of Bosque Farms. Albert retired from KAFB after 38 years as a civil servent in 1984. He was a faithful member of the Annunciation Catholic Church. After services, Albert and Dora were frequently seen gliding across the dance floor at the North Valley Senior Center on a Sunday afternoon with their many friends. Albert was a life time member of the American Legion Post #99. Albert's everlasting love, humor and wit will truly be missed by all. He was a truly devoted, loving husband and father never complained or made personal requests for himself and always put everyone else first. His memory will be forever cherished in the hearts and minds of his family as well as all who knew him. The abundance of love and grace he has brought to his family will never be forgotten. The Absence of his presence leaves a deep void in their lives.
Visitation and Rosary were at the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel in Albuquerque. A final visitation and Mass of Christian Burial were at Annunciation Catholic Church. Interment followed in the Santa Fe National Cemetery with military honors. Pallbearers: Don Bilberry, John Birner, Jerry Chávez, Lawrence Gonzáles, Willie Gómez Jr., and Bill Wilkinson. Honorary pallbearers: Bobby Gómez, Delfino A. Gonzáles, Jackie Gonzáles, Ralph Sánchez and Raymond L. Sánchez.
