Stella Moore Goltry, daughter of Leslie and Jessie Moore, was born June 6, 1899 and departed this life August 21 at the Lucas County Memorial Hospital at the age of 76 years, 2 months and 15 days.
Her early life was spent in Lucas County and after completing her schooling she taught in the rural schools of Lucas County for nine years.
On December 20, 1925 she united in marriage with Carl Goltry and they made their home on a farm east of Russell. In 1968 they moved to Russell, where she resided until her death.
As a child, youth and adult she was active in the church and worked in many areas. At the time of her death she was a member of the Russell Garden Club, Faith United Methodist Church, T.N.T. Club, American Legion Auxiliary, a charter member of World War One Barricks Auxiliary and the United Methodist Womens Organization.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Dorothy and Audrey and one infant son, Harold Dean.
She is survived by her husband Carl, one daughter, Mrs. James (Jean) Cooper, one son, Duane Goltry, one son-in-law, James Cooper, one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Duane Goltry; one grandson, Jimmie Cooper and two granddaughters, Linda and Lisa Goltry, all of Russell; two brothers, Everett Moore, Chariton and Raymond Moore, Cameron, Mo.; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Wauneita McConnell, at 1:30 p.m., Monday, August 25, at the Woodman Chapel in Russell. Interment was in the Russell Cemetery.
