David Jay Golden, age 61, of Allen, TX, passed away on 5/6/2015. He was born on 11/12/1953, in Paris, TX to J. W. and Rosa (Trapp) Golden. On 6/4/1977, David married Karen Lamb in Albany, TX. He graduated from Howard Payne University in Brownwood, TX. David was a huge supporter of the Allen Eagles and a self-made Texas Longhorn. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Allen.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Golden of Allen, TX; daughter, Denise Nix and husband Matt of Anna, TX; son, Kevin Golden of Allen, TX; sister, Patricia Patterson and husband Keith of Richardson, TX; mother-in-law, Mary Lamb of Azle, TX; grandchildren, Ava, Benjamin and Samuel Nix; one nephew; five nieces; and many other loving relatives and friends.
David is preceded in death by his parents, J.W. and Rosa Golden and father-in-law, Dewey Lamb.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, 5/12/2015, at First Baptist Church of Allen. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas, TX. The family will receive friends during a visitation being held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday evening at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
