To everyone who've stopped by to visit my sister and left a flower/token or a thought for her. May our Lord's blessings shine into your life daily...

HELEN YVONNE GOING WILSON was the second child born to Duel Glen and Georgia Lee Cox Going on 18 Nov 1935, in Gilbert, AZ.

In the 1940's Helen sang on the radio in Newport, AR. with Freddy Segrest; as Freddy progressed into Country Music he changed his name to Freddie Hart and is highly recognized for his song, "Easy Lovin".

Helen was a dedicated Christian and active member of Jacksonport Baptist Church in Jacksonport, AR. One of her highest wishes was to be baptized in her Church; which she did a couple of months prior to her death. Until her illness, she was always at Sunday School and Church enjoying all the Church fellowships and outings. She was a member of the Church Choir, Senior Adult Sunday School Class and Church Training Class. She had a very deep devotion for her Church family.

Helen loved her family, and always enjoyed our get togethers and outings. Her favorite was for all of us to go to a nice restaurant and afterwards take off on a shopping trip. She could always find the best and most bargains; or shop all day, walking down every isle of the store (touching everything), and not buy one single item and be just as happy.

Helen married WILLIAM WILSON JR 10 Jan 1953 in Hickory Grove, Jackson County, Arkansas. They divorced 01 Feb 1977 in Newport, Jackson County, Arkansas, but they loved each other until Jr's death 10 Mar 2001.

Helen is survived by a brother, Duel Going, Jr. of Cabot; sisters, Jackie Tolbert of Jacksonville, Shirley Heermans of Rowlett, Texas and Ruth Coffey of Holland; nieces, Amy Ford, Stephanie Williams, Connie Walker, Cindy Wilson, Melba Lolmaugh, Donna Kelso, Janice Olson, and Melinda Cote; nephews, Bennie Tolbert (Trey) III, Greg Going, and Tony Kelso; grandnieces, Alexis Coffey, Destiny Coffey, Haley Williams, Stefanni Walker, Makayla Walker, Summer Wilson, Jessica Kelso, Julianne Kelso, Serene Cote, Chyann Lima, Cynthia Mann, Candice Lemus, Monica Ennis, and Jennipher Hale; grandnephews, Joel Coffey, Jr., Austin Coffey, Marceles Tolbert, Braden Wilson, Kurt Kelso, Luke Kelso, Rick Cote, Jaired Cote, Jeremy Cote, Dylan Cote, and Jonathon Hettlinger; six great-grandnephews and six great-grandnieces.

Since Helen had no children of her own, she treated all her nieces and nephews as if they were her children.

Visitation and viewing were held at Dillinger Funeral Home on Feb. 20 from 6-9 p.m.

Funeral services were held Feb. 21 at 2 p.m. in Jacksonport Baptist Church, with Pastor Charles Ray officiating.

Interment was in the Coffeyville Cemetery in Bradford.

Helen Yvonne Going Wilson is my sister.

Helen was preceded in death by her father and mother, Duel and Georgia Going; her husband, William Wilson, Jr.; her big sister, Betty Jane Going Kelso; brother-in-law Donald Gene Kelso; a niece, Cheryl Ann Kelso Clark who was killed in a car accident; and a nephew Joel Tavis Coffey who was killed by being electrocuted while working.

Helen lost her battle with cancer of the lungs and liver after only a few months of the disease discovery. She died in Jacksonport, AR. on Feb. 19, 2004, at the age of 68; where she had lived for 52 years.

Since Helen went to her rest, the same as her mother who lost hers to cancer of the liver, she has been joined by a niece who lost her life to cancer, Donna Yvonne Kelso.

Don't think of her as gone away -
her journey's just begun,
life holds so many facets -
this earth is only one.
Just think of her as resting
from the sorrows and the tears
in a place of warmth and comfort
where there are no days and years.
Think how she must be wishing
that we could know today
how nothing but our sadness
can really pass away.
And think of her as living
in the hearts of those she touched...
for nothing loved is ever lost -
and she is loved so much.
