A birth record for Ruby cannot be located. Ruby's death certificate shows her birthday as April 19th, but her grave marker shows her birthday as April 18th. According to the 1900 census and her death certificate, Ruby's parents' names were James P. Goff and Mary Walters, both born in Kentucky. Ruby and her sister Pearl were twins. Ruby was predeceased by her first husband, Burley Thomas Hudson, whom she married on 13 Sep. 1919 in Muskogee, Okla., and survived by her second husband, Walter Duff, whom she married on 12 April 1928 in Shawnee, Okla.

"RUBY GOFF DUFF — Funeral services for Mrs. Ruby Goff Duff, 37, who died Sunday at her home, 722 S. Third St., were held at 4 this afternoon at the Petering funeral home, with the Rev. Paul B. Cullen of the Central Baptist Church officiating. Pallbearers were Will Askew, Carmen Stout, T. T. Ellis, James Novy, Joe Paul, and Ray Swanson. Survivors are her husband, Walter Duff; her father, J. P. Goff; two brothers, [William Forrest], of Muskogee, and Earl, of Detroit; and two sisters, Mrs. Pearl [Rodgers], of Muskogee, and Mrs. Virgie [Weston], of Seminole."
