FORT MYERS PRESS, October 30, 1918 - Influenza claimed another victim last evening, when Mrs. R. S. Gillis of Hoople Street succumbed to the malady, dying after an illness of several days. She had been apparently getting along very well, but as the entire family were ill with the same disease, she got out of bed too early in order to wait on them, and took a turn for the worse, dying very soon after.
Mrs. Gillis came with her family from Punta Gorda about two months ago, her husband going into the fish business.
The funeral was held this morning at teh Fort Meyrs Cemetery under the direction of Rev. F. D. King.
