Born Dec. 28, 1936, in Green Valley to Roy E. and Lottie R. Goodwin Bailey, she married Duane Reichel Goetze on Sept. 22, 1957, at Green Valley Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Duane Goetze of Mapleton; her daughters, Tammy Jean Goetze (and Rick) Smith of Mapleton, Ill., Mary Lou Goetze (and Ron) Janssen of Glasford, Ill., and Darla Marie Goetze (and Jeff) Tieszen of Glasford; her son, Theodore Bailey (and Melissa) Goetze of Green Valley, Ill.; grandchildren, Ryan (and Amy Williams) Smith of Glasford, Mark Smith of Bartonville, Nicole Janssen (and Bill) Lettow of Hanna City, Chris Janssen, Benjamin Tieszen and Hope Tieszen, all of Glasford, and Susan Goetze, Sarah Goetze and Joshua Goetze, all of Green Valley; great-grandchildren, Madeline Lettow of Hanna City, Austin Smith and Eli and Peyton Flamingo, all of Glasford; her sister, Donna (and the Rev. Dr. Alvin) Abbott Sr. of Joliet, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jerome.
Alberta was a member of Glasford United Methodist Church for more than 50 years.
She worked for 30 years as a cashier for Cowser Auction Service, retiring in 1995.
After retiring, she loved spending time with her family and friends, she enjoyed traveling, was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, and enjoyed Bradley basketball games.
Funeral services for Alberta will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010, at Glasford United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Walter Wilkins officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday evening at Woolsey Funeral Home in Pekin, and also one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in Maple Ridge Cemetery in Mapleton, Ill.
