LaVerne Frieda Arnst, 86, a resident at Morningside Health Care Center passed away there on Wednesday morning, January 16, 2008.
LaVerne was born on March 23, 1921 in Sheboygan, a daughter of the late Albert and Emilie (Oldenburg) Goetsch.
She attended Bethlehem Lutheran School and the Sheboygan Vocational School.
On January 15, 1944 she was united in marriage to Henry Weber and he preceded her in death in 1964. On March 1, 1969 she was united in marriage to Emil Arnst and he preceded her in death on July 19, 2004.
LaVerne had been employed at Wigwam Mills as a knitter. She enjoyed baking goodies for her family and friends. She also enjoyed sewing and embroidery along with spending time with her family.
LaVerne was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Leisure League.
Laverne is survived by two sons, Tom (Freda) Weber and Michael (Linda) Weber, of Sheboygan; a stepson, Dennis (Charlene) Arnst of Fresno, CA a stepdaughter Terril Arnst of Minnesota; four grandchildren, Christopher (Gina) Weber, Nicholas Weber, David Weber and Daniel Weber; five great grandchildren, Amy Weber, Mitchell Weber, Dominic Weber, Nicholas Weber, Jr. and Markus Weber and two step grandchildren, Chelsea Arnst and Christopher Arnst. Nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
LaVerne was preceded in death by four brothers, Herbert, Harvey, Helmuth and Harold and six sisters, Jean, Doris, Lorraine, Viola, Gertrude and Edna.
A Funeral service for LaVerne will be held 1 pm, Friday, January 18 at the Novak-Ramm-Ziegler Funeral Home with Rev. Timothy Mech, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, as officiant. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery.
