Carl E. Goebel, 75, KCK, passed away Wed., November 10, 2004, at St. Luke's Hospital. Cremation. Friends may call between 1 and 3 p.m. Sunday, November 14, 2004, at Joseph A. Butler and Son Funeral Home, 19th & Minnesota Ave., KCK. In lieu of plants and flowers, the family suggests memorials to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105; Leukemia and Lymphoma Society-Mid-America Chapter, 6811 Shawnee Mission Pkwy., Mission, KS 66202, or American Lung Assoc. of Kansas, 4300 S.W. Drury Ln., Topeka, KS 66604. Mr. Goebel was born in Hubbard, IA, and lived most of his life in Kansas City. He was an Army Air Corps veteran.

Through the years, Mr. Goebel served on the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department six and a half years, owned Carl's Club at 10th & Central in KCK, and retired as a custodian for the KCK Board of Education after 21 years.

He leaves his wife, Rosalie Goebel of the home; a son, Gregory Goebel, Marysville, CA; three daughters, Karen Trent and her husband, Terry, Edwardsville, KS, Karla Wallace and her husband, Paul, Baldwin City, KS, Denise Breckenridge and her husband, John, Smithville, MO; a sister, Carol Smart and her husband, Jim, Edwardsville; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
