Johnnie Edward Godley was the son of the late John Joseph Robert Godley and the late Eva Bell Jones Godley. Johnnie had two brothers, Alton Lee Godley and Joseph David Godley, two sisters, Annie Godley (Hales)Davis and Hilda Godley Ainsley. Johnnie married Lilly Belvin Scott in 1927 in Greenville, NC. His beloved wife of 54 years died on May 12, 1981 at the age of 77. Johnnie and Lilly had seven children, five daughters and two sons. (Margaret Elain Godley (Hersey,Spell) Snyder, Virgina Lucile Godley Harrison, Barbara Jean Godley (Haggard Clarke)Lowry, Thelma Ruth Godley(Haddock, Clark)Wiggins, Katherine Marie Godley Gray, Charles Edward Godley, Sr. and John William Godley. Johnnie married Kathleen Cox in October of 1982.
