WEST PAWLET - Charles Edward Godette, 71, died Nov. 4, 2013, at the Glens Falls Hospital in New York.

He was born Jan. 8, 1942, in Granville, N.Y., the son of Robert and Verna (Flaska) Godette.

He worked for General Electric for 10 years, and then became a postal carrier in West Pawlet.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving most of his time from 1959 to 1962 in Germany in the Military Police.

On Dec. 3, 1965, he married Constance Taylor.

He was a member of the Falvey Fringi VFW, the Modern Woodmen of America, and the West Pawlet Fish and Game.

He enjoyed nature and the outdoors, and was a hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed camping, with a favorite spot being in Maine. He also enjoyed gardening, both flowers and vegetables.

Survivors include his wife, Constance Lynne (Taylor) Godette; two sons, Charles Godette and Darren Godette; three grandchildren; and a sister, Linda Taylor. He was predeceased by his parents, a brother Donald, and a sister Elaine Park.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at 3 p.m. at the Robert M. King Funeral Home, 23 Church St., Granville, N.Y. Burial will follow at the Mountainview Cemetery in West Pawlet.

Friends may call Friday, Nov. 8, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
