MRS. GODEL, 84, WINDBER, EXPIRES WHILE ON VISIT
Succumbs to Heart Trouble at Home of Daughter Residing in Pittsburgh

WINDBER, Aug. 18. – Mrs. Christiana (Filler) Godel, aged 84 years, widow of Adolph Godel and who made her home here with her daughter, Mrs. Emma Latz, of 410 Ninth Street, died of heart trouble yesterday at the residence of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Kilmer, of Pittsburgh, and with whom she had been visiting for the past two weeks. She became ill on Thursday and some of her relatives were summoned to Pittsburgh.
The body will be brought to Windber today and prepared for burial by Undertaker G. C. Meek, after which it will be removed to the Latz home. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon in the local Lutheran Church, conducted by the Rev. J. E. Nelson, pastor. Interment will be in the Scalp Level Lutheran Cemetery.
Mrs. Godel was born in Germany on May 25, 1844. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gustav Filler The deceased came to the United States at the age of 14 years. She was united in marriage to Adolph Godel at Newark, N. J. many years ago. Her husband passed away here 12 years ago. Mrs. Godel was member of the Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Godel is survived by the following children: Peter Godel, of Altoona; Fred Godel, of Akron, OH.; David Godel, of Cleveland, OH.; Rena, wife of J. H. Kilmer, mentioned above; and Mrs. Latz, also mentioned above. Twenty-three grandchildren and 14 great-grand-children also survive.
