Bernard E. Godde Jr., known to grandchildren and friends as “Bokie”, 91, of Sarasota, Fla. formerly of Claremore, Okla. and Battle Creek, Mich. died on March 27, 2012.
A memorial service will be held on May 5, 2012 at 1 p.m., at the Church of the Incarnation in Sarasota, Fla.
Bernie was a Pearl Harbor survivor, aboard the U.S.S. Salt Lake City. He was married for 65 years to Virginia, until her passing in 2008.
He is survived by his son, Bernie (and Eileen) of Oviedo, Fla.L his daughter, Carol Eldridge of Sarasota, FL his six granddaughters, 12 great- grandchildren, and his companion Gerry Watson.
Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Disabled Veterans and the Church of the Incarnation of Sarasota, Fla. Arrangements by Toale Brothers Funeral Homes, Sarasota, Fla.
