Aramantha A. Merry, wife of the late R.H. Goddard, was born March 24, 1831, at Deerfield, Portage County, Ohio, and died at her home in Scott Township, Steuben County, Indiana, April 5, 1916, aged 85 years and 12 days.

She was united in marriage to Rollin H. Goddard, Aug. 11, 1851. To this union were born three sons, the oldest dying in infancy, and the youngest, Arthur H., about 21 years ago; and her husband preceded her in death about seven years ago.

She leaves to mourn, one son, Warren C., one brother, H.O. Merry, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Goddard united with the Methodist Episcopal Church about fifty years ago and always lived in that faith until the end. She was of a kind and loving disposition, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.
