Mary Tallulah "Lula" Gober was the daughter of Green Berry Gober and Margaret R. DeMons Gober of Cherokee County, GA (Cherokee County Marriages, Oct. 25, 1855, Book D., p. 39).
The family all moved to East Point around 1900. Lula's siblings include: Marion Washingon, Lucretia "Tecia", Fannie, Julie (Mrs. Julia V. Edwards) and Susie Maud Gober (Mrs. Maude Bentley).
On February 21, 1886, Mary Talula "Lula" Gober married John G. Booth in Cherokee County, GA (Cherokee County Marriages, Book F., p. 51). They had two sons, Claude D., and Cliff Lester Booth.
Funeral of Mrs. J.G. Booth
Funeral services for Mrs. J.G. Booth, 70, of 401 West Washington Street, East Point, who died Wednesday at a local hospital, were held Thursday afternoon at the chapel of Howard L. Carmichael. Rev. M.D. Collins officiated and interment was in Mount Olive Cemetery. Mrs. Booth is survived by a son, C.L. Booth, a brother, M.W. Gober, and three sisters, Mrs. J.C. Durham, of Woodstock, and Mrs. H.K Tree and Mrs. Maude Bentley, of Atlanta.
