Nancy E. (Glynn) Chapman, a long-time Houghs Neck resident, died peacefully on the morning of Dec.24, 2012 surrounded by the love, comfort and care of her devoted family. At 68, she was the loving wife of the late Walter C. Chapman Sr. who died Dec. 26, 1997. Born and raised in Roxbury, Nancy was the daughter of the late John and Marion (Chilson) Glynn. She graduated Dorchester High School in 1961, and soon after married and settled in Houghs Neck to start her family. She maintained close contact with many of the friends and classmates she had in her youth, and cherished the Teen Tuesday get-togethers with her long-time friends each month. Nancy looked forward to the many Dock-of-the-Bay vacations she took over the years, and thoroughly enjoyed her trips to Foxwoods and Nantasket Beach. These occasions are all counted among her favorites, but her best times were those spent in the company of her loving and devoted family and friends. She was the loving mother of Walter C. Chapman Jr. and his wife Susan of Plymouth, Cheryl Cowan and her husband Jim of Quincy, and Lisa Chapman. Cherished grandmother of Jacqueline Chapman who took great care of her, Stephanie, Matt and Danny Chapman, and Joseph and Rachel Levasseur. Great-grandmother of Ava Chapman. Dear sister of Margie Doty of Randolph and John and Muriel Glynn of Tewksbury. Also survived by a large circle of extended family including Dottie Kane, Larry Levasseur and Hollie LeDoux, and close friends Mary Monahan and Junior Cedrone. Her Funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held Saturday, Dec. 29 at 9 a.m. from the Hamel, Wickens & Troupe Funeral Home, 26 Adams St., Quincy Center, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Trinity Parishs Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1013 Sea St., Houghs Neck. Interment to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy. Visiting hours Friday, Dec. 28, from 4 - 8 p.m. Instead of sending flowers, the family asks you to consider making a contribution in Nancys memory to: Old Colony Hospice, One Credit Union Way, Randolph, MA 02368.
