Mrs. Sarah G. Cannon, 80, a native of Glasgow residing at 1234 N. Highland Ave., Pittsburgh, died at 11 a.m. July 4 at Pittsburgh Hospital there after a long illness. Born Jan. 2, 1888, she was a daughter of George L. and Julia (Ellis) Glasgow. She and Harry L. Cannon Sr. were married in Bellwood in September, 1921. They resided in Pittsburgh for the past 28 years and earlier in Ebensburg when Mr. Cannon served a Cambria County Controller from 1927 to 1940. Surviving are her husband, a son, Henry Jr., of Midland, who serves as a director of First National Bank of Coalport, and 4 grandchildren. Mrs. Cannon was a member of Zion Lutheran Church at Glasgow, a graduate of Irving College, Mechanicsburg, and had served as postmistress at Glasgow from 1920 to 1922. She was a granddaughter of the founder of Glasgow, John Glasgow. For many years she was vice president of the F.E.I. Corp. and Dr. Ellis Sales Co., national cosmetics manufacturers and distributors, Pittsburgh, founded by the late Dr. Ellis Glasgow, a Pittsburgh physician. Friends were received in Henry L. Cannon Jr. Funeral Home, Midland, where services were held at 9:30 Monday by Rev. George H. Bohlender. Interment was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Glasgow.

Henry L. Cannon, 82, 1235 N. Highland Ave., Pittsburgh, died Oct. 4, 1969, at Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born June 6, 1887, in Latrobe. Preceded in death by wife, former Sarah Glasgow, in July 1968. Survived by son, Henry L. Jr., Midland, Pa., funeral director and four grandchildren. Brother of Miss Ann M. Cannon, Mrs. Clarence Magee and Mrs. Dorothy Saxon, all of Pittsburgh. Cambria County controller from 1927 to 1940. Founder and charter member of Paul Kuhn Post 552, American Legion, Blandburg. Life member and past exalted ruler of Latrobe Lodge 907, Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks. Life member of Menoher Post 155, Veteran of Foreign Wars, Johnstown. Member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Pittsburgh. Friends received after 2 p.m. Monday at Henry L. Cannon Funeral Home, Midland. Requiem Mass at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Presentation Catholic Church, Midland, the Rev. Stephen Burdis. Interment, Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Glasgow. Full military rites by Midland 481 and Blandburg Post 552, American Legion.
