Joseph A. Gladysz of 7808 Sharon Warren Road, Brookfield, died Thursday (3-9-06) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System after an extended illness. He was 75.
Mr. Gladysz was born June 18, 1930, in Brookfield, a son of Peter and Sophie Shuba Gladysz.
He graduated in 1948 from Brookfield High School,
where he was a varsity letterman on the golf team.
After graduation, Joe went into the Army to serve our country during the Korean conflict.
Joe was a materials handler for Delphi Packard Electric Systems, both in Warren and Hubbard, retiring in 1989 after 30 years of service.
In his spare time, he was a former Little League baseball manager for the Strimbu team. He enjoyed flowers and golf, even representing Yankee Run Golf Course, Brookfield, at the Champ of Champs
Golf Tournament in 1947.
Survivors include: three brothers, William Gladysz, Hubbard; Edward Gladysz and his wife Kathy; and Patrick "Porkey" Gladysz, all Brookfield; four sisters, Stella Lazor, Hermitage; Frances Malia, Sharpsville; Mary Perilli, West Middlesex; and Patricia Curren, Henderson, Nev.; and many nieces and nephews
as well as great-nieces and nephews.
Mr. Gladysz was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Waja Malenky.
