Born Anna T. Giordano in Concord, she moved to Rosebank in 1932, living there until settling in Dongan Hills forty years ago.
During World War II, Mrs. Colangelo worked as a cook at the former Halloran Hospital, Willowbrook, where prisoners of war were housed.
She was a graduate of Curtis High School.
Mrs. Colangelo was a member of the Berry Homes Senior Citizens Center, Dongan Hills.
She enjoyed cooking for her family.
Mrs. Colangelo was a parishioner of St. Ann's R.C. Church, Dongan Hills.
"She will be missed by her family, especially her son-in-law, Joe Bacchi, and her daughter-in-law, Ann Colangelo. She has a special place in all of our hearts," said her daughter, Marie Bacchi.
Mrs. Colangelo's husband, Nicholas, died in 1981.
Surviving, in addition to her daughter, Marie, are her sons, Stanley and Nicholas; her sisters, Angelina Giovaniello and Elizabeth Picoriello; six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held on Saturday from the Casey-McCallum-Rice South Shore Funeral Home, Great Kills, with a Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Ann's Church.
Burial will follow in Moravian Cemetery, New Dorp.
