Mrs. Kate Ginley, 74, native of Ireland, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs Mary Van Arkel, 966 Elm Street, at 9:35 Thursday night, after a 13-weeks' illness with a complication of diseases.
Mrs. Ginley was born in Ireland in 1857, coming to this country when a child and settling first in Paducah, Ky. She was married to Patrick Ginley in 1875, who with two sisters and seven children preceded her in death.
The survivors are two children, Mrs. Van Arkel and Tim Ginley of Muscatine, two sisters, Mrs. Anna Coyle of Chicago and Mrs. Betty Raney of Ashland, Kas., and six grandchildren, all of whom reside in Muscatine.
Funeral services will be held Monday morning at St. Mary's church burial to be in St. Mary's cemetery. The Meyers Funeral home is in charge of arrangements. The body was taken to the home on Elm street late this afternoon.
