She was born October 28th, 1929, at Reidsville, North Carolina, a daughter of the late John Henry Thomas Gillispie (Deceased) and Florence Doss-Gillispie (Deceased).
She was a pastor's wife of the Jesus Church for about 65 years, and also a dedicated Christian.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Clinton Dickens (Deceased) for 64 years, a daughter, Thelma Dickens (Deceased), a son, Clifford Dickens (Deceased), and granddaughters Kimberly Dickens (Deceased) and Frances K. Dickens (Deceased), and a daughter-in-law Rebecca Dickens (Deceased), brothers, Johnny Gillispie (Deceased), sisters, Sally Gillispie (Deceased), Effie Gillispie (Deceased), and Evelyn Gillispie (Deceased).
She is survived by her loving family: children, Charles Dickens and wife Sandra Kay Doss Dickens of Eunice, Jerry G Dickens of Rock Creek, Betsy Dickens-Loudermilk and Robert Loudermilk Sr. of Rock Creek, James R. Dickens and wife Kay of Naoma, David D. Dickens and wife Judy of Jumping Branch, Thomas H. Dickens and wife Dena of Thomasville, North Carolina; sisters, Mary Gillispie and Mamie Gillispie; brothers, Sam Gillispie and Franklin Gillispie. Grandchildren: Sheila and Billy, Tammy and Kelly, Charles and Danielle, James Ray Jr., Jody, Makayla, Miranda and Derek, David Jr., Harrison, Samantha, Carlos and Kim, Robert Jr. and Mendy, Bruce and Alison, Tracy. Stepchildren: Savanah, Corey, Misty, Michael. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon, January 8, 2014, at 1 o'clock in the Armstrong Funeral Home, Whitesville, WV, with Bishop Leonard Dickens and Pastor Donnie Russell and singers Turner Family. Interment is in Pineview Cemetery, Orgas, WV.
