Funeral services for Emmitt Oscar "E.O." Gilliland, 97, were held at the Church of Christ.
Burial followed in Restland Memorial Park.
Mr. Gilliland died on June 18, at his residence in Livingston.
He was born on Jan. 29, 1908 in Clarksville, Tenn., the son of Oscar and Lorene Ferrel Gilliland.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Maude, in 1963; his son, Emmitt Oscar "Little Boy" Gilliland II in 1969; two brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma; daughter and son-in-law, Don Tyba Gilliland Wiegreffe and husband Roger; grandsons, Emmitt Wayne "Bo" Wiegreffe of Spring and Ronnie Warren Wiegreffe and wife Julie of Livingston; great-granddaughters, Kortni Donann Wiegreffe of Livingston and Brittany Shay Burns of Austin.
