Mary Elizabeth Rodeffer, 95, widow of Samuel Rodeffer, and a resident of Rockland Mills community for many years, died Friday morning (Feb. 14, 1954) at the home of her son, Andrew J. Rodeffer, Weyers Cave, where she had resided for the past three years. Mrs. Rodeffer had been seriously ill for several weeks.

A daughter of the late James H. and Elizabeth Echard Gilkerson, she was born on Nov. 13, 1868 in Friedens Church community.

In 1887, she married Samuel Rodeffer who died in 1943.

She is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Clyde Bailey of Staunton; Mrs. Amos B. Diehl of Waynesboro: Mrs. William Breeden and Mrs. Andrew Morris, both of Verona; Mrs. Rollin Trobaugh of Keezletown;
Mrs. Nelson Fogle of Mt Sidney; four sons, Otis J. Rodeffer of Mt. Crawford; Andrew J. Rodeffer of Weyers Cave; Samuel H. Rodeffer of Staunton; and J. Lester Rodeffer of Mt. Crawford. Mrs. Rodeffer leaves a total of 105 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p. m. Sunday from the Melanchthon Chapel Lutheran Church near Weyers Cave by the Rev. David T. Hinkley and the Rev. Samuel A. Moyer. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The body is at the Koontz and Lindsey Funeral Chapel at Weyers Cave. The relatives will meet at the funeral chapel at 1:40 today for a brief service. Her body will be taken to the church an hour before the service.

Active pallbearers will be David W. Houff, W. S. Menefee, Lusty Craun. Ward H. Reubush. Sr., Floyd J. Huffman, J. Frank Layne, T. R. (Pete) Phillips and Harvey Showalter.
