Funeral for Ellen G. Jackson, 73, Lawton, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at The Church of The Living God, Temple No. 219, 400 North 5th St., Frederick, with Earl Bowie, bishop and pastor officiating.
She died Sunday, Sept. 13, 2009, in Lawton.
Burial will be in Frederick Memorial Cemetery under direction of Howard-Harris Funeral Services, Lawton.
She was born Dec. 25, 1930, in Tipton to Abe and Georgia Gildon. She attended Kennedy and Boyd Public Schools in Frederick. She worked at Betsy Bra, Kellwoods, and Snow White Laundry and also did home health care for Pauline Garrison. She was a member of The Church of The Living God Temple No. 219 in Frederick, where she was a member of the senior choir and matrons. She married Morris Jackson who later died. Her companion John Lee Wilson also died in 1994.
Survivors include three daughters: Ellen Brown, Blenda Murphy, and Lillian Langston, all of Lawton; six sons: Leroy Wilson, Willie Taylor, Chad Jackson, and Tracy Jackson, all of Lawton; Robert Taylor, Wichita Falls, Texas; and Otis Jackson, Gary, Ind.; a brother and sister-in-law, Roosevelt and Linda Gildon, Wichita Falls, Texas; 39 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren, and many nephews, nieces, extended family members and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her companion; four brothers: Abe, Robert, Jack and Rufus Gildon; two sisters: Fannie Stanford and Dorthy Brown; and three children: Lennie Gardner, Jeneva Kelly and Alice Wilson.
